DescriptionDescription: Porcelain figurines depict general characters or situations from literature, the stage or the surroundings. Sculpting figurines with gestures and details was an artistic and technical challenge. The stories told by the figurines also pushed societal boundaries. For the social elite, a life close to nature, such as that of herders or gardeners, symbolised a longing for a different, freer way of life.
