DescriptionDescription: The backs of the chairs look like the facades of 15th-century Italian churches. They have inlays of ivory and marble with engravings of women in folk costume. In the 1880s the distiller L.O. Smith had a grand apartment furnished with a luxurious dining room in Renaissance style. It was considered apt for the kind of lavish dinner parties the newly rich ‘aquavit king’ threw.
