DescriptionDescription: Following the death of John Bauer, Gustaf Tenggren took on the task of illustrating Bland tomtar och troll [Among gnomes and trolls]. In Tenggren’s interpretation the trolls appear as more demonic than in Bauer’s world. Opinions differed in folklore as to whether trolls were mean or not. As with other beings they reacted to how they were treated and so it was people’s fault if a troll turned nasty.
