DescriptionDescription: This sculpture seems to make reference to something we recognise yet can’t quite put our finger on. Is it a pile of potatoes, an outgrowth on a tree, or something from the sea bed? Mårten Medbo’s ceramics often inhabit the region between the figurative and the abstract. In 2016, he became Sweden’s first Doctor of the Arts, at Gothenburg’s School of Design and Crafts, in the Crafts discipline. He titled his thesis Clay based experience and language-ness.
