DescriptionDescription: Inscribed at lower left in pen and brown ink: Cav. Vanni. Numbered at lower right: d 49 (Richardson?) and 194 (Sparre) Reattributed to Ferrau Fenzoni by Philip Pouncey. The drawing is a preparatory sketch for a lost painting, engraved by Francesco Villamena in 1597. Fenzoni had become interested in old German prints (Dürer, Lucas van Leyden) which in this drawing can be discerned in his frequent use of parallel strokes of shading. [Bjurström, It.
