DescriptionDescription: Numbered at lower right in pen and brown ink: 1008 (Sparre) Tessin described this drawing as a copy after Ludovico. Bohn thinks the style is very close to Ludovico's own, comparing it with a study in the Louvre for the "Ecce Homo" of c. 1592 in the "Oratorio de San Filipo Neri", Bologna. By comparison with the Stockholm drawing she finds the Louvre drawing more natural and the anatomy more correct. The Stockholm drawing, however, is so close to Ludovico that she thinks it may have been the result of a collaboration between the two artists. She points out that according to Malvasia Ludovico often furnished models for Valesio. Catherine Loisel is of the same opinion. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1680]
