DescriptionDescription: Numbered at lower right in pen and brown ink: 760 (Sparre) and 44 An interesting and rare representation of an early 17th-century academy. The drawing was probably made by a pupil - perhaps by one of those depicted in the drawing. Note the stylistical difference between the representation of the nude model on the one side and the more narrative approach in the rendering of the pupils on the other. A similar drawing is in Graphische Sammlung, Munich, another in the École superieur des Beaux-Arts in Paris. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1450]
