DescriptionDescription: Inscribed in pen and black ink in lower right corner: Pesarese - Cabinet de Crozat. Numbered in pen and brown ink in lower right corner: 89 (struck out) and in pen and black ink in lower right corner and on mount: 1073 (Sparre) The preliminary drawing for a frontispiece of a book, engraved in reverse, with the title IL MIRTO D'IMENEO NELLE FELICISSIME NOZZE DELLI SSV Girolamo GIORDANI Ortensia BORGHESE, published on the occasion of the marriage between Girolamo Giordani and Ortensia Borghese in 1643. This is the final version of the composition. An earlier and more sketchy study is in the Fondazione Cini, Venice.
