DescriptionDescription: Inscribed in pen and red ink at lower left: vofier. Numbered in brown ink at upper left: 466, at lower right: 100 (Sparre) and 53 (struck out) Traditionally attributed to Andrea del Sarto this drawing was by Sirén connected with a group of stylistically related drawings in the Uffizi, in 1935 reconstructed as an ensemble by Fraenckel and in 1958 attributed to Bacchiacca by Luisa Marcucci. Three drawings in the Louvre were added to the group and attributed to Bacchiacca by Roseline Bacou in 1955. Federico Zeri prefers to attribute the group to the "Master of the Kress Landscapes" comparing the drawings with three panels in the National Gallery, Washington. The attribution of this drawing to Bacchiacca is due to Janet Cox Rearick and confirmed by R. Ward [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1086]
