Numbered in pen and brown ink in the upper left corner: 648, and in the lower right corner: 18 and 6 (Sparre) Cartoon for the head of the Baptist at upper left in the artist's altar painting, "Virgin and Child attended by saints", from 1484, in Capella di S. Onofrio in the cathedral of Perugia. The drawing has been carefully and comprehensively pricked, which means that its main elements could be transferred to another surface by tapping along the lines with a bag of fine black dust (chalk, charcoal).
