DescriptionDescription: Inscribed in pen and brown ink at lower left: Lionard da Vinci. Numbered at lower right: 56. (Sparre) It was Philip Pouncey who identified this sheet in 1967 as a work by Camillo Procaccini. Similar grotesque studies are to be found in the Accademia, Venice and in Berlin's Kupferstichkabinett. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 278]
