DescriptionDescription: During a study trip in 1721–1727 Hårleman was much impressed by the emergence of Rococo in Paris. In Sweden he was to work on the interior of the Royal Palace. Hårleman’s style has been described as playful and fluent and could be said to be a deft adaptation of French Rococo to Swedish soil. He was also one of the founders of the Drawing Academy in 1735, where Swedish artists were taught by French masters such as Guillaume Taraval. In 1741 Hårleman was appointed Court Superintendent.
