DescriptionDescription: When Oscar I was dying, Crown Prince Charles commissioned these portraits of himself and his wife. He turned to Amalia Lindegren, whose assignment was to produce paintings that could serve as the first official representations of the new king and queen following the accession. Her portraits were copied by several other artists, both as oil paintings and as simpler printed images for a wider public.
