DescriptionDescription: This self-portrait shows Robert Thegerström wearing a summer suit and smoking a pipe. The light and the shadow from the hat suggest a sunny day. The artist painted both portraits and landscapes, the latter demonstrating his interest in plain-air painting and light. Towards the turn of the century, his works became darker and more atmospheric. Thegerström belonged to the generation of the Opponents and was a member of the Artists’ Union.
