DescriptionExhibition text: A buffet can be seen behind the elegant company enjoying a feast. The engraving illustrates the parable of the beggar in the rich man's house (Luke 16:19-31). Lazarus begs for food but is cast out. After death, their roles are reversed: Lazarus is in heaven, while the rich man is tormented in Hades. He cries out for mercy, but instead hears: ”Remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.”
