DescriptionDescription: Numbered at lower right in pen and black ink: 1278. (Sparre) This drawing was listed under Veronese by Crozat and Tessin but Sirén was doubtful and regarded it as belonging to Veronese's circle, certainly Venetian but probably later than Paolo Veronese. Zelotti was suggested tentatively by Fiocco; Terence Mullaly supported this in the catalogue for an exhibition at Fondazione Cini in 1971, comparing our sheet with two other pen drawings by Zelotti at the same exhibition and arguing that the three together provide a basis for assessing Zelotti's manner of drawing with the pen.
