DescriptionDescription: Beata von Yxkull inherited property in central Sweden. In addition, first as Erik Gyllenstierna’s wife and later as his widow, she ran several large estates, including Pintorp (now Eriksberg). Here she is magnificently attired in an overdress of gold-embroidered brocade bands over a floral-patterned underdress. Voluminous sleeves and a standing lace collar accentuate the width of the figure. There is no historical basis for the suggestion that Beata von Yxkull was the cruel “Lady of Pintorp” of legend.
