DescriptionDescription: Karl XI’s interest is hunting is well documented, and is why he had court painter David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl immortalise nature’s treasures and the various royal kills. One statement by the artist has been interpreted to mean that he found this difficult, although his work contradicts this. His still life with two black grouse on a stone bench is an illusionistic masterpiece.
