Pen and red ink, with red wash and lead white highlight (showing some signs of corrosion). There is an indistinct watermark, possibly of a bunch of grapes, on the left hand side of the recto. The remains of a later support sheet are apparent on the verso, covering an inscription in brown ink along the top edge. There is evidence of some discolouration and foxing on the recto
