DescriptionDescription: In autumn 1786, 12 soldiers from Södermanland’s regiment started to dig a canal north of Brahelund’s main building, later transformed into the King’s Pavilion. It was barely one metre deep. The intention was to create an irregular shoreline with small islands. This is the landscape depicted by Martin here. As the branches of the canal were shallow, everything ended up on dry land again after the water level regulation of Lake Brunnsviken in 1863.
