DescriptionDescription: Trolls were a subject that inspired sculptor Christian Eriksson to cast a series of bronze and iron reliefs. “Troll with child” and “The troll and the princess” were two of his titles. His work often has humorous elements. The bronze relief was formerly owned by Rolf de Maré who was a noted collector, primarily of contemporary art, in the 20th century. He donated a number of important works of art to Moderna Museet in Stockholm. This bronze relief was a gift from Rolf de Maré to the Nationalmuseum in 1965.
