Description: The artist is today best known for her small sculptures in bronze from the turn of the 20th century. At the time, Milles lived in Paris and portrayed romantic fishing girls from Brittany and Holland. When she moved back to Sweden, the figures became more realistic and depicted scenes from the everyday life of the working class. Ruth Milles also wrote and illustrated picture books for children. She was educated at the Royal Academy in Stockholm.

Beskrivning: Konstnären är i dag mest känd för sina skulpturer i brons från sekelskiftet 1900. Milles bodde då i Paris och skildrade romantiska fiskarflickor från Bretagne och Holland. När hon sedan flyttade tillbaka till Sverige blev figurerna mera realistiska och gestaltade scener ur arbetarklassens vardagsliv. Ruth Milles skrev och illustrerade även bilderböcker för barn. Hon var utbildad vid Konstakademien i Stockholm och syster till skulptören Carl Milles.
