Description: In the early 1950s, House Beautiful editor Elizabeth Gordon spotted Red Crocus in the new book Contemporary Swedish Design (1951). She found contact information for its producer at the back of the book and ordered one for herself. Gordon used the hanging several times professionally, for example in photo essays and articles on new American homes, which she published in her wide-circulation magazine, and in exhibitions that she organised.
