DescriptionExhibition text: Accompanied by her chaperon, wearing a dress with puffed sleeves typical of fashion around 1830, a woman set up her easel in front of the Wedding at Cana by Veronese. The scene is not uncommon, but rarely so positively depicted. For all artists, copying was an essential part of the training. The quickly sketched study lends an intimate dimension to the artist's confrontation with one of the most monumental works in the Louvre.
