DescriptionDescription: Tuonela is the realm of the dead in the Finnish epic poem Kalevala. The etching shows a detail from a mural painting that Gallen-Kallela undertook for the Julius mausoleum in Pori in 1903. Gallen-Kallela numbers among the Finnish artist who frequently returned to the subjects from Kalevala.
