DescriptionDescription: Grez-sur-Loing is a village about 80 km. south east of Paris. It was to be very important for many Swedish artists who went there in the 1880s. They gathered to paint landscapes and rural life and to socialise. Here light played the main role in the images, not least for Carl Larsson, who painted his first successful watercolours there. And also for Oscar Björck, whose painting of the interior of the village store displays his accomplished treatment of light.
