DescriptionDescription: Danish Princess Sofia Magdalena is portrayed here in an ermine-edged mantle and a tightly laced-up dress, richly decorated with lace and jewels. When the groom to be, Crown Prince Gustav (III), saw Pilo’s portrait he exclaimed: “But she doesn’t make at all as bad an impression as I’ve been told! I am quite delighted!” They were married on 1 October 1766.
