Other titlesTitle (sv): Gosshuvud Title (en): Head of a Boy

DescriptionDescription: Black chalk, 125 x 122 mm. Watermark: Foolscap, fragment. Chain lines: 25 mm. Numbered in the lower right corner, in pen and brown ink, 1685 (Sparre). Mark of the Royal Collection (Lugt 1638). The attribution to Helmbreeker (1953) was made without supporting arguments. Although the vigorous yet sensitive hatching can be found in portrait drawings by Helmbreeker, it is even more a characteristic of Visscher. It compares well with drawings like the portrait of a small boy in the British Museum. [Magnusson, Dutch Drawings no. 464]
