DescriptionDescription: Pen and brown ink, 138 x 180 mm. Verso: Summary sketch of rooftops and some trees, pen and brown ink. Brown stains all over. Ruled framing lines in black ink. No watermark. Chain lines: 25 mm. Inscribed in the lower right corner, in pen and brown ink, Rimbrant (C. G. Tessin), and a number cut off by the margin. The drawing is faded, probably because it was one of the ones Tessin kept framed in his house, and it was sold after his death at a sale in 1785. Although attributed to Rembrandt, it is different in style, the treatment of the foliage pointing to Lievens. The ink on the verso is darker, and the unfinished motif seems to repeat the right part of the drawing Farm Buildings behind a Fence in the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York.
