DescriptionDescription: Gunnlöd represents something unusual in Zorn’s production which includes few illustrations or subjects with literary connections. He painted watercolours for the poetic Edda, Saemundr the Wise, Old Norse myths and heroic songs about the Gothic or Germanic people’s ancient gods. The image was not used when the poem was published in 1892 in a translation by Nils Fredrik Sander (1828-1900).
