DescriptionExhibition text: L.A. Ring has depicted his wife, the ceramist and painter Sigrid Kähler, sitting at the breakfast table. She is reading in a newspaper – a copy of Politiken. Light is streaming in through the open door, and outside one can make out the lush green of summer. The year is 1898 and the Danish artist couple have been married for two years. The home as a motif recurs throughout Ring’s artistic career. His paintings can resemble those of Carl Larsson, but they often appear as more authentic depictions of everyday life.
