DescriptionDescription: The architectural form and smooth volumes of this bowl give it an international character not generally found in Swedish silver from this period. Sven Backström was primarily an architect. The bowl bears witness to his studies at the Bauhaus in Germany, which sought to fuse architecture, design and visual art into a unified whole. Its design language was based on the sphere, cone and cube and the primary colours red, blue and yellow.
