DescriptionDescription: Anna Boberg first visited the Lofoten islands in northwest Norway in the summer of 1901. She returned there around thirty times, summer and winter, as the scenery, northern lights and the midnight sun made a great impression on her. In a vast number of paintings and sketches, often on cardboard, Boberg depicted fishing camps, mountains and atmospheric phenomena. The paintings from northern Norway were poorly received in Sweden, but were met positively abroad.
