DescriptionDescription: In 1998, Dawid took a series of nude self-portraits. His nakedness reinforces the picture of him as a sensitive and vulnerable image-maker. In this respect, Dawid has a famous predecessor in art, Albrecht Dürer. Shifting the interpretation a step further, we could equally well see this as a Christ figure, hanging on an invisible cross, an association most viewers readily make. In Western culture this is linked to suffering.
