DescriptionDescription: This bracelet was probably ordered in France by a female recipient of the queen’s medal Tessera Memoriae (Memory’s Treasure-House), depicting Queen Josefina of Sweden and Norway. The Tessera Memoriae medal was established in 1855. It was awarded in either gold or silver. The engraver was Pehr Henrik Lundgren, son of Sweden’s coin and medal engraver Ludvig Persson Lundgren (1789–1853). He succeeded his father but died of cholera two years later, and was in turn succeeded by his sister, Lea Ahlborn (1826–1897), who thus became Sweden’s first female government employee. The bracelet with French export marks.
