DescriptionDescription: Eero Järnefelt first visited the Koli region in eastern Finland in 1892. Its natural features were perfect for the Finnish National Romantic style of painting that Järnefelt pioneered. This watercolour study is hard to date. Järnefelt visited the region regularly up until 1936, and always painted scenes such as this.
