DescriptionDescription: Laid down. Inscribed in pen and brown ink at lower right: salvator Provenance: J.T. Sergel (Lugt 2339 b) In the nervous line, loose hatching, combination of pen and wash and the dramatic poses there are strong affinities with drawings by Rosa from the 1650s. An attribution to Rosa is gainsaid, however, by some lack of linear smoothness, which suggests that this might be the work of an imitator. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 962]
