DescriptionDescription: German artist Johan Johnsen was born in Kiel and arrived in Sweden at the end of the 1670s, at the invitation of magnate Georg de Besche from Forsmark. These two floral still life paintings were probably produced at this time. They are strangely old-fashioned in their symmetrical and stylised character, but display several of the exclusive flowers found in the pleasure gardens of the era, including tulips.
