DescriptionDescription: Ellen Ehk’s vase is inspired by the large deformed growths, known as burs, that occur on trees, and by woodland mosses and fungi. It was cast in five stages, the first in a foam mould that was lost in firing. Ehk then applied clay of different qualities to the fired piece, allowing it to crack in the furnace, so that the shape, structures and glaze effects were rendered randomly.
