DescriptionDescription: This parure from Gleiwitz or Berlin consists of a necklace, bracelet, tiara, a pair of earrings and two brooches in the original case. It is executed in cast iron, with artfully braided iron thread and mounts of gilt brass. Its different parts were the result of an extreme specialisation, with separate suppliers. The choice of subject matter – classical mythology – was probably not for decorative as much as political-symbolic purposes.
