DescriptionDescription: No watermark. Fragment of an inscription in pen and brown ink at lower left: "Ciro Ferri". The angel in the sky carries a banderol with the text...AD ASTRA; on the facades of the temples to the left: HONORES TEMPLUM and VIRTUTIS TEMPLUM. Provenance: Crozat? ; C.G. Tessin (Cat. 1749, livré 23, no. 16) ; M.G. Anckarsvärd ; A Michelson ; K. Michelson ; Acquired by Nationalmuseum in 1896 The facade of the temple is adorned with a quartered papal coat of arms which implies that it was executed during the pontificate of either Alexander VII Chigi (1655-1667) or Clement IX rospigliosi (1667-1669).
