DescriptionDescription: The artist has managed to capture the sleeping figure in an immediate and moving manner. It reminds us of the vulnerability of small children in our culture. Löwstädt-Chadwick, through her paintings, wanted to re-evaluate the home, human relations and our basic need for mutual recognition. She settled in the international art colony of Grez-sur-Loing in 1882 and operated Pension Chevillon with her husband Francis B. Chadwick.
