Additional texteDescription: Louise Breslau was raised in Germany and Switzerland, and worked as an artist in France. During a period in the 1880s, she socialised and travelled with several Swedish artists, including Ernst Josephson. His portrait of her was made in 1883–1884 and gives the impression of being a portrait of a personal friend. It does not feature any attributes relating to her profession as an artist.
