DescriptionDescription: Zorn painted Swedish motifs throughout his career, but more and more after he settled permanently in Mora in 1896. He was a keen supporter of local traditions and created enormous collections of buildings, folk costumes and other objects. Several of his most popular motifs from Dalarna depict small rooms in log cabins with the hearth as the only source of light. Here he offers a fine contrast between the warm indoor light and the cold light outdoors which is admitted through the open door.
