DescriptionDescription: Bruno Liljefors’ paintings were based on a profound knowledge of nature – of its animals and every minute detail about their habitats. The undergrowth in A Fox Family matches the fox kits’ stage of development. Sometime in early summer, they are mature enough to eat solid food instead of suckling. This is the time when cow-parsley comes into flower, whereas the dandelions have gone to seed. Beskrivning i inventariet: Bruno Andreas Liljefors are known for his pictures of animals and nature. Sometimes it happens pretty dramatic things in the pictures. Liljefors liked to paint the animals as they really were and how they looked in their real environment. He did not want that the images should be too cute and simple. A fox family is one of his most famous paintings. Here you can see how the mother has given the fox cubs a bird to eat. The sunny meadow, the bloody bird and the fox cubs who happily playing with eachother, makes it a painting that catches the eye. It is an image that is full of movement and life. Res. Katalogtext: Recent studies has shown that the painting has got another painting underneath.
