DescriptionDescription: Carl Frederik Aagaard belonged to an earlier generation but was sensitive to new artistic trends. For several decades he had been painting broadleaved woods in Denmark as examples of the Danish landscape. Here the artist concentrates on the play of light as the sunbeams filter through the treetops. The painting is also modern in depicting a skittles alley, one of the Sunday pastimes in the modern world.
