DescriptionDescription: Fashion during the Rococo Revival was influenced by recent progress in the art of goldsmithing, which made it possible to solder together relatively thin sheet gold to make non-solid jewellery. In this way, impressive-looking pieces could be produced from less of the expensive metal. The decoration often consisted of engraving and enamel, as seen on this bracelet. The production method made the jewellery fragile, however, and many of the pieces were recycled when they became damaged or dented or when the enamel chipped. Fredrik och Wilhelm Zethelius were active in Stockholm 1839-1846.
