DescriptionDescription: No watermark. Inscribed in pen and brown ink at bottom: "No 282 Andrea del Sarto", and in fainter ink "Zuccari." Provenance: M.G. Anckarsvärd ; A Michelson ; K. Michelson ; S. Josephson ; Acquired by the museum in 1896 Drawing for the Persian Sibyl, painted in the ceiling in the Sala del Tesoro in Loreto. The decoration was contracted in 1605 and finished in 1609. The drawing differs in some details from the executed painting, the left arm is more raised, the folds on the left are less elaborate, and the foot rests on a cubic block. Near the left knee there is a ´lump´ that does not exist in the painting.[Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 562]
