De la Gardie (Lugt 2722a) ; Gift to the museum in 1973 These figure studies [NMH 387/1973 recto] are perhaps related to a project for a ceiling decoration, in the lower left corner there are sketches of decorative frames or mouldings. The style is related to the previous drawing, where figures in similar poses are found. On the verso [NMH 387/1973 verso] there are sketches of a bull, a monsterlike creature (a chimera?), and a boar. The boar seems to have a support under the belly, which suggests that it represents a statue. [slut] [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 498]
