DescriptionDescription: The celebrated beauty Louise-Henriette de Bourbon-Conti, Duchess of Chartres, is here “disguised” as Hebe, the goddess of youth. Jupiter, in the form of an eagle, drinks nectar from her goblet. Nattier was possibly the first to paint a portrait featuring this popular costume. There are several versions of the work, but the one in Nationalmuseum’s collection, first shown at the Paris Salon of 1745, is the original.
